Son # 5 may be the baby of the family (at almost 26 his 4 older brothers still 'affectionately' call him Bub!) but we are all very proud of his talents. He has his own residential Landscaping business & here's some pics of one of his recent jobs. The house is a wonderful old 2 storey Victorian villa on a large corner allotment in Adelaide. There are independent water sources - large underground tanks, so this garden is able to maintain it's self-sufficiency despite the current harsh water restrictions. #5 put water-saving microdrip systems throughout the garden & installed sub-surface micro-drippers under the new lawn. Sadly, the backyard had been subdivided in the 1970's, so there's only room for a small swimming pool & paved entertaining area.
The garden was a bare canvas (other than the ornamental fountain), so it's been a huge job. The family have young children, & as you can see by the play equipment in the front garden, it's all pretty relaxed. Each time I called in to see how things were progressing, Bub had all the kids following him around like the Pied Piper, they thought he was very cool! The owner also happens to be a client of mine, so poor #5 was also under added pressure to get it right or his Mum would have been none too pleased! He's a perfectionist & doesn't give himself enough pats on the back, but our lovely mutual client is over the moon with the end result. #5 has also reported that the referrals from this garden have been coming thick & fast.
