From a distance this skyscraper, to be completed in 2009 in Chicago,
will seem quite traditional. it’ll only be when you get close and look up
that you can appreciate the ripple/jelly effect created by variously
sized balconies from top to bottom.
2. Chicago spire, USA (website)
The phenomenal Chicago spire, when completed in 2010, will be
the world’s tallest residential building and the tallest building of
any kind in the western world. seemingly modelled on the image
of a giant drill poking through the ground, the 609m structure will
dominate the chicago skyline.
Following months of speculation and sturdy opposition,
This humungous project is in the final stages of approval and
apparently construction will start very soon. even so, due
to the size of the plan it will take at least 15 years to complete.
Resembling a sci-fi city, the area will be crowned by 2 x 200m
towers and completely transform the small island of penang.
This gigantic, 300m tall glass flame of a building will house the
Gazprom headquarters in st. petersburg, dwarfing all structures
in its vicinity. it will apparently change colour up to 10 times
per day depending on the position of the sun. The building has
already been nicknamed ‘corn on the cob’ by unhappy locals.

World’s tallest building 

It seems like the Burj Dubai will be dethroned from the “world’s tallest building”position as (also) in Dubai will be built a one kilometer skyscraper.The tower was designed by Woods Bagot Australian architect and it willbe built by Nakheel, the same developer which has built those fancystate-of-the-art man-made islands in Dubai. The skyscraper will becalled Nakheel Tower and as a bonus, there will also be built world’sfirst inner city harbor. 200-storey tower Nakheel Tower will be built by 2020.

Biggest and Smallest Houses in the World

We’re living in a world of records, many of them unknown to most of us, some of which absurd but others fascinating and worth having a look at. For some general trivia on houses and their extreme sizes, here are the smallest house and the biggest one in the world.


On the outskirts of Sebastol, this small house has been a childhood dream for artist builder Jay Shafer that created it. The entire house has only 96 square feet, basically smaller than most of people’s bathrooms. It is equipped with a stainless-steel kitchen, customized storage and has a classy wood interior. The artist’ next dream is to create a community of such small houses, connected by walking paths, having the same shrunk size as the homes.

On the other hand, the biggest house in the world belongs to royalty, as you might have guessed. The world’s biggest house is Windsor Castle, located in England, Berkshire, with a surface of around 484,000 square feet (about 45,000 square meters). Having its structure changed over the centuries, the castle now occupies 13 acres of land, having 1,000 rooms. Along with Buckingham Palace in London and Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh, Windsor Castle is one of the principal official residences of the British monarch. The resident is Queen Elizabeth II that made the castle her home beginning with 1952.
