New York walkies: Kristen Stewart takes Bear, the rescue dog she shares with boyfriend Robert Pattinson, out for a walk in New York's East Village


Being the pet of a famous movie star may have its perks, but being left behind while your owner travels the world isn't one of them.

Luckily for Robert Pattinson's dog Bear his owner's girlfriend Kristen Stewart is happy to take over walking duties when he isn't there.

With Pattinson was in London promoting Water For Elephants, Kirsten took the reigns as Bear's carer.

Dressed in skinny jeans, Converse trainers and a grey T-shirt, Kristen, 21, and her canine companion braved the wind and rain as they made their way across New York's East Village.

Clutching his blue lead, Kristen was careful to keep a tight hold on Bear as they set out across the city together.

Pattinson found Bear in an animal shelter while shooting Breaking Dawn in the Baton Rouge area of Louisiana.

The dog was originally called Yogi Bear, but Pattinson and Kristen decided to shorten his name to Bear after Rob admitted he thought Yogi was 'a bit much.'

Kristen, and her canine companion, have been staying at one of the actress's favourite New York hotels, The Bowery, on the Lower East Side of the city.

Meanwhile, the Twilight actress is set to welcome a new man into her life after it was announced today that British actor, Sam Claflin, has been cast alongside her in Snow White and the Huntsman.

The 24-year-old actor will play Prince Charmant to Kristen's Snow White.

Kristen Stewart, 21, will have a new on-screen lover other than Robert Pattinson for the first time in her career in her new film Snow White and the Huntsman. Sam Claflin, 24, has been tapped to play Prince Charmant opposite Stewart, who will play Snow White, and Charlize Theron, who plays the Evil Queen, according to Deadline Hollywood. Clafin hails from England. He was born in Ipswich, Suffolk, a small county in western England. His breakthrough role is in Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. He plays a middling role as Philip Swift, a stalwart missionary.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart may not get any respect from the Oscars, but Eclipse, their Twilight film release last year, has been nominated for more MTV Movie Awards than another other film. The awards were announced Tuesday and by the time the smoke cleared, Eclipse had been nominated for eight awards. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were nominated for best female performance and best male performance respectively, while the film itself is up for best movie, best fight and best kiss.

The nominations for this year's Razzie Awards have been revealed, and Megan Fox, Jennifer Aniston, Miley Cyrus and Kristen Stewart have all been nominated for the worst actress category. Others who have been nominated for the worst actress category in the 31st Annual Golden Raspberry (Razzies) Awards are Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon, the Daily Mail reported. Aniston, 41, was nominated for her role in The Bounty Hunter and The Switch, Cyrus, 18, for The Last Song, Fox, 24, for Jonah Hex, and Stewart, 20, for Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Parker, 45, Cattrall, 54, Davis, 45, and Nixon, 44, were nominated for their roles in Sex and the City 2.

This week's issue of Entertainment Weekly includes the first official photo from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. Kristen Stewart, 20, and Robert Pattison, 24, sharing a bed as man and wife on their wedding night. Though the actors have been linked romantically for years, director Bill Condon tells Entertainment Weekly he was worried about how their pivotal love scene would translate on film. "You want to live up to people's expectations," Condon explains. "People take [the movie and characters] personally. When you are interpreting something you have a certain vision of how it will be. Sometimes it is a liberal interpretation, but you hope you get to the essence of something."

For the second year, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson enjoyed some time off together on England's Isle of Wight, a large and lovely resort town right off the mainland. Clad in jeans and black jackets, Pattinson and Stewart surfaced several times at the Isle's Spyglass Inn (the irony) lunching on New Year's Eve, then returning for a spot of music and the countdown with a group of friends that evening. They returned the next day, where according to People they were recognized by "several fans."
