In the 1950s he became a pop artist and was one of 11 New York City Painters to have a show at the Terrain Gallery. The artist lived with other artists in Hotel Chelsea in the 1960s. Also living in the location were Bob Dylan,Janis Joplin, Len Cohen, Arthur Clarke, and Sid Vicious.
