Put them away, Mum! Matthew McConaughey's mother Kay McCabe leaves the actor and his brother Rooster (right) embarrassed as she flashes her legs at The Lincoln Lawyer premiere

It must be difficult trying to stand out at the premiere of your Hollywood heartthrob son's new movie.

But Matthew McConaughey's mother Kay McCabe certainly gave it her best shot last night as she flashed her legs, and her control underwear, while on the red carpet for McConaughey's new movie The Lincoln Lawyer.

The 68-year-old former teacher performed her best Marilyn Monroe impression as she posed for photographers at the event.

However, Matthew, 41, and his older brother Rooster didn't look too happy about their mother's antics, with Rooster even burying his head in his hands at one point because he was so embarrassed.

But McCabe seemed entirely unconcerned about her sons' reactions, and continued to flaunt her impressive pins.

The author and women and children advocate isn't shy about revealing intimate details either.

She revealed in her book, I Amaze Myself, that her husband died while having sex.

I don't care! But the 68-year-old just found her sons' reactions amusing, and continued with her antics

'On Monday mornings, he and I often said goodbye by making love,' Kay told Us Weekly in 2008. 'But one day, all of a sudden, it just happened.

'I knew that something was wrong, because I didn’t hear anything from him. Just nothing,' she said. 'But it was just the best way to go!'

'I was just so proud to show off my big old Jim McConaughey — and his gift,' she says.

McCabe works with charities that support abused women and also is an active member of The Children’s Advocacy Center and Family Outreach.

That's better: Matthew had more luck when he posed with his stunning girlfriend, Camila Alves

McConaughey, meanwhile, looked dapper in a grey three-piece suit, and attended the event with girlfriend Camila Alves, who wore a long black asymmetric dress.

The Lincoln Lawyer sees McConaughey return to a fictional courtroom for the first time since he appeared in A Time To Kill in 1996.

And the father-of-two told Access Hollywood recently that he was considering a career in law before he made the journey into acting.

Screen star: McConaughey in a tense scene from upcoming film The Lincoln Lawyer, released in the UK on March 18th

He said: 'I woke up when I was in college - I think I was 21, and I said, "Wait a minute - a couple more years of this, four more years of law school, I get out and I’ll be 28 before I actually have a job and am practicing what I want to do? I don’t want to miss my 20s!"

'I wanted to get out in my 20s and try and make some sort of imprint in society. I didn’t have the patience or the want to go for another six years of just education before I wanted to try out and get my own experience.

'So I switched over to film production and I’m happy I did.'

The Lincoln Lawyer, which also stars William H Macy, Marisa Tomei, Ryan Phillippe, tells the story of lawyer Mick Haller, who conducts his business from the back of his Lincoln town car while working on a case for a high-profile client.

The Lincoln Lawyer is released in the UK on March 18th.
