Tsunami and earthquake hits Japan
Japanwas struck by a magnitude 8.9 earthquake off its northeastern coastFriday, unleashing a 13-foot tsunami that washed away cars and toreaway buildings along the coast near the epicenter. The governmentconfirmed at least five deaths, but that toll was likely to rise.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي عَافَانِي مِمَّا ابْتَلَاكَ بِهِ وَفَضَّلَنِي عَلَى كَثِيرٍ مِمَّنْ خَلَقَ تَفْضِيلَاً
"All praise belongs to Allah who has saved me from such a conditionwhich is afflicted on you and favoured me over many creations". Thevirtues of this dua is that the reciter will be saved from thedifficulties he has seen.
