Our local country cinema is no Art House movie theatre, just the big commercial Box Office blockbusters are screened. So when I saw they where doing a quick 2 day screening of Jane Campion's Bright Star, I jumped into the Millie-mobile, hurtled up the Freeway on Friday arvo & throw myself into a seat quick smart. And with the added bonus of a 'Private Screening', as I was the only one there! Although I'd heard mixed reviews, I was optimistic that I would enjoy it, but left feeling not as satisfied as I'd hoped. It was a very metered & controlled film, the actors did a mostly fine job, but didn't seem to inhabit their roles totally & draw me in to their world. I did a bit of a MOTH & got the wriggles several times throughout, always a good indication that all was not well. I'd value your comments, is it just me or are there others who experienced a case of the wrigglie MOTH's too watching this film.
