A professor from University of South Carolina at Columbia plans to teach a course linking Lady Gaga, 24, and the sociology of fame. Mathieu Deflem, 48, a sociology professor at the University of South Caroline at Columbia and a "little monster" himself, believes studying about Lady Gaga's rise to fame will help explain what being famous means in today's culture. "The central objective is to unravel some of the sociologically relevant dimensions of the fame of Lady Gaga" stands as the central objective of the course. Deflem, as mentioned, is a huge fan of Lady Gaga and has met her five times already. He even started a fan site for her at gagafrontrow.net, where photos and audio downloads are available.
